Basic Dishcloth Pattern

This is a great little project to keep in your purse...

Basic Knit Dish Cloth

This pattern is my go to when I’m bored and don’t have the time to start a big project. They are great as gifts and hold up forever!

Materials Needed:

Cotton worsted weight yarn (I prefer Bernat, but any would work)

Size 8 knitting needles

Pattern:
Cast on 3 stitches (Click this link for the Long Tail Cast On)

Row 1 – K, kf&b, K
Row 2 – K2, kf&b, K
Row 3 – K2, kf&b, K2
Row 4 – K3, YO, K to end of row. Repeat Row 4 until there are 50 stitches
Row 5 – K2, K2tog, YO, K2tog, K to end of row. Repeat Row 5 until there are 6 stitches
Row 6 – K2, K2tog, K2
Row 7 – K2, K2tog, K
Row 8 – K, K2tog, K

Bind off

*To add a stripe in the middle, change colors at 44 stitches while increasing and 44 stitches while decreasing.
