As a homesteader at heart Dana loves things that increase production, self-sufficiency and efficiency. You will most often find her in the garden, seeing to the animals or sitting in the sun watching her children play. In the kitchen, she always doing something; dreaming up new recipes, fermenting, baking, cooking and making soap or skincare. Dana also works part-time as a nurse at the local hospital. As a family, they are living in the south of stunning New Zealand on 10 acres as they are working towards self-sufficiency. Dana is happiest when she has several projects on the go, creating a big mess while making delicious and beautiful things.

The Usual Mayhem

Erin’s a homeschooling, homesteading small farming mother of three with too many unfinished quilting projects and not nearly enough animals yet. In her “spare” time, she writes at her blog The Usual Mayhem, and is the author of the Farmschooling curriculum series.

Cery loves to teach all about traditional foods and old fashioned homecrafts. When she’s not playing in the kitchen or craft room, she’s working on her Master Herbalist Certification or foraging Central Oklahoma for wild edibles. She has a passion for all things natural and homemade and is currently in the beginning stages of a love affair with pottery.
