I was a strict chocolate chip girl, until I tried these!

Chewy Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies

Chewy Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies

My husband is a lover of oatmeal cookies!  Unfortunately for him, I never have been.

So for the past 6 years I have been stingy and selfish, sticking to my favorite chocolate chip.  I know I’m an awful wife!  I’m sorry!!

But I had never had an oatmeal cookie that just made me say Wow!  I don’t like the roughness of them and would prefer the soft gooey chocolate chip cookie any day!

This week I think I’ve found the perfect solution to our oatmeal vs. chocolate chip battle, with these Chewy Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies.  Let the battle cease!

As homesteaders we spend plenty of time in gardens, greenhouses, barns, coops and just out in nature. But most of all of that hard work leads us right back into the kitchen. And thankfully for me the kitchen is one of my favorite places to be! Whether it’s canning, make ahead meals, dinner for that night, or a treat just because, it gives me a satisfaction knowing that it came from my own two hands, both in the kitchen and from our gardens and coop!

Fall has to be my favorite time of the year! Aside from the beautiful colors of Northwestern Pennsylvania, the crisp air, and (hopefully) a bountiful harvest, it is time for Canned Cinnamon Applesauce!

So glad we made this cake for our wedding!!

Raspberry Champagne Cream Cake

Raspberry Champagne Cream Cake

A few months before our wedding, I made this cake for a party that my family was having. Needless to say we LOVED it and my mom asked if I would like them for our wedding cakes. Ummmm, of course I did!

At the time I was selling The Pampered Chef Products and had stumbled across the recipe researching for one of my home shows. Mom and I have since made the cake a few more times, most recently for my friend Heather’s wedding, and have made some adjustments along the way that make it much less time consuming.
